These are original lobby cards printed in 1974 to promote one of the greatest films of all time. I have the LP of the original soundtrack too, which was somewhat bizarre as there’s lots of dialog from the movie mixed in with the music…..Entirely and extremely cool, if you ask me……DSC02673

I love Black Belt Jones. I love Jim Kelly although he always remained the poor man’s Bruce Lee. And I love love love 70s karate movies especially when accompanied by large Afros. My favorite flicks of Jim’s include Enter the Dragon (of course), Black Samurai and Three the Hard Way.

Great that you have this full set.

I know what you mean about the soundtrack being full of blabbering and ambient noise. That happened a lot when there wasn’t enough money to do a separate recording session or to pay higher licensing fees for all the music so they just taped it right off of the movie and said to hell with separating any of the sound.

Yeah, 70s karate movies: you can’t go wrong! This is by far my favorite, but I’m there with you too on ETD, Black Samurai and 3 the Hard Way. true movie classics! I’ve tape recorded many a line off of this film to leave answering machine messages for friends. MOst of which would not be particularly appropriate to print here…..

Wow, thanks for the info about the soundtrack…..I don’t know much about these things, but it makes sense that it was a budget thing to have loads of mish-mashed dialog. It really does sound like someone put a tape deck up to a tv…I know because I spent my whole childhood doing just that……there’s something so cool about listening to the Wizard of Oz while sitting under a fort made of blankets…….
