When most people think of ketchup we think of the red tomato based condiment used on our food. At the beginning of the new millennium Heinz set out to change that. Now that delicious red condiment could be purchased in several different colors. These are no longer available, but this is a full bottle I purchased when they were still around. As you can see they even made plush dolls of them.

I can’t believe I missed this. This is a food trend I would’ve totally embraced! How long did this last on the market? And what colors did it come in? This bottle says “mystery color”. Was that the color in every bottle or could you choose blue ketchup , green ketchup , etc.? I swear I would’ve bought cases of them and am just beside myself that I missed this.
I guess they really thought this was going to be big as they already had the plush doll made. Did you have to send away for the plush doll or were they sold in stores?
The logo’s pretty weird too. That spiral snaily thing with the microphone at the end of it. Or is it an ice cream cone? Makes no sense re ketchup, squirting or anything.

I tried some of this colored purple… purple being my favorite color. The bottle swore it tasted the same as regular ketchup, and only varied in the fact it had tons of purple dye in it.. but I think the taste and consistency were a little weird.
