Here’s Lucy

If you want to see some real Kitsch – then check out Season 1 & 2 on DVD of the classic TV series Here’s Lucy

In 1968 Lucy changed her format of her show and brought on her real life children Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr to play her TV kids – Kim and Craig Carter.  Gale Gordon stuck around to play Uncle Harry who Lucy worked for at his Unique Employment Agency

The show had some amazing guest stars – but the sets, clothes and over color of the show has some amazing kitsch

I actually enjoyed watching these shows 40 years later….

If only the look of the show was as blasting Technicolor as the cover of this DVD I maybe would have got farther into the show than the two minutes I gave it back in 1968 when it started on the air. The opening titles showed great possibilities for excellent cheese: http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=J2FHESxH6qs&feature=related. But then it just turned into a half-hour sprawl of middle-of-the-roadness. The most amazing thing about the show to me is that it lasted for six years.
