Glitzy Pakistani RV

You’re driving along minding your own business in Pakistan, when across the horizon there’s a bright flash. But this isn’t your run-of-the-mill Country of India neighbors setting off mushroom cloud fireworks, it’s a wonderfully chromey truck. I’d hate to have to clean the bugs off of this one.

Now this is my kind of vehicle. Swear to God I’d love to drive this truck! And there’s even a jungle animal on the side. Do we have any idea who the inhabitants of this masterpiece are?

(The AWMOK Jungle Animal Petting Zoo is a scenic attraction whose cages are currently being filled to coincide with the release of the upcoming Pomplamoose with Allee Willis “Jungle Animal” VideoSong and online music game and contest. Jungle tamer, AWMOK creator, curator and charming hostess, Allee Willis, me, will be steadily leading jungle animals to their cages over the next 1-2 months or so as you bring them here until the song is released. If ever there ever was a category that was primed to be kitschified it’s that of “Jungle Animal” as all the stripes, spots and fur have been inspiration for designers since the beginning of time. I thank you all in advance for placing your jungle pets in such an illustrious cage as The Allee Willis Museum of Kitsch. Keep them coming!)

I don’t know if I’m tickled more over the award or that you’d love to drive the truck, but thanks Allee!

I’ll poke around a little this weekend and see if I can get more info on this fabulous flivver.

I think we’re all getting “Jungle Animal” fever!

I can see the classified on Craig’s list:
“For Sale: truck/rv/moving van. quite different, must like chrome, and detailing.”

When you really study the front of it, the top looks like late 50’s american iron (except the square headlights,) the middle looks like a pan flute, and the bottom looks like a hoover.

God only knows what they’d haul in this sucker.

Web articles dedicated to the truck art in Pakistan and other countries reveal an art form not found in the U.S.

If you would like to see a lot of truck art pictures, look at “Masterpieces to Go-the Trucks of Pakistan” :

Also a great article in Amherst Magazine-“On Wings of Diesel: The Decorated Trucks of Pakistan.” :

Excellent links. It’s very lucky that I don’t live anywhere near Pakistan because I’d be wanting to design one of these in a second. Driving down the streets there must be thrilling.
