Waffelos were a maple flavored cereal that came out in the early 80s. They were delicious too. I wasn’t a fan of most Ralston cereals as a kid, but I loved these. Ralston later seemed to find a niche basing their cereals on well know TV characters, and while I love those for different reasons, they tasted average at best. Waffelos were delicious though. I would love to taste a bowl of these again. I love the cowboy mascot too, and the fact his horse is playing the guitar in the background on the box. How an animal with a hoof could play the guitar just boggles my mind.

What Allee has to say about this:
I know many musicians who sound like they’re playing their instruments with hooves so the horse player doesn’t surprise me.

As for the product itself, I never tasted Waffelos but love waffles so I probably would have lived on these in the 80’s had I realized they were around.

It looks like each little waffle rectangle is a separate piece of cereal. I would’ve figured out a way to load each one up with whipped cream or ice cream and been happy as a clam (or some other foodstuff that would have been more appropriate for a waffle topping).
