Covered Wagon Lamp

I’m not sure of the year of this lamp but as Allee says, “it knocked the breath out of me”. I spotted this at a new thrift shop (new to me) and it had a price tag of $25.00. I sheepishly approached the lady and asked if the price was firm. She said “no, you can have it for $12.00”. I was flipped. I rushed out of there with my purchase as if someone was going to snatch it from me. It sits on the work area where I paint. It actually gives really great lighting and it’s “kitsch inspiring”.

Takes a normal size bulb.

I’m not into collecting Western or early Americana themed stuff but covered wagon lamps have always killed me. I recently found an MIB kit to make one yourself. I’m not even ambitious enough to open the box but it has now joined the seven other covered wagon lamps I’ve collected over the years in my storage area and one day maybe I will light an entire room with them.

    Excellent documentation, Denny!

You’re right on Michael. I keep this on the desk where I paint and I just really dig the glow that radiates from it. It’s one of my favorite lamps.

Really nice. I found one at a yard sale a few years ago, but the condition wasn’t nearly as good as yours. The fabric over the wagon looked a little burned from the heat of the light bulb. Great find.
