Can I tell everyone how much fun I had photographing the bottle openers at “Willis Wonderland”? Sometimes it’s the little things…….

This one is for the ladies.

Wooden bowling pin bottle opener. Allee has an incredible collection of vintage bowling kitsch.

Have a blast when your boozing it up!

I love the shriner bottle opener.

More bowling pin kitsch!

Perfect timing to have this post about some of my bottle openers as just a couple of days ago Mod Betty’s oxford shoe opener was visible on her tiki bar: (https://www.alleewillis.com/awmok/kitschenette/2011/01/20/record-coasters-for-allee/) and I mentioned that I had a matching high heel, seen here in the second photo.

Both of the shoe openers are relatively new. I got them in Old Forge in the Adirondacks about six years ago.

Both the bowling pin and firecracker openers are in gnarly shape but I absolutely hate when people restore these by repainting. I’d rather know the lots of people before me popped open lots of drinks and had lots of fun.

Both the Shriner bottle opener and the last metal bowling pin one weigh a ton. They’re both made out of cast metal. I wouldn’t want to be drunk when using one of them or you’d break a toe if you dropped them.

I have a real shriner/lodge hat encrusted with jewels just sitting in the basement.

Doug – the shriner opener is one of my faves too and the bowling pin is a close second for me.
