The Realist Magazine

The Realist magazine was an anti establishment oriented magazine in the mid ’60’s. It had great interviews, cartoons and anti Vietnam War articles. The EROS that the judge is reading was an actual magazine published by Ralph Ginzburg which, because of obscenity rulings only lasted for four issues. I have four issues of the Realist and will probably put in one more which has stories about Lenny Bruce, Timothy Leary and LBJ.

I totally remember The Realist. Though I never read it myself as I never was really a reader so much as a TV watcher. But I love finding anything now with Timothy Leary, who I was great friends with. In fact, I just bumped into his wife, Barbara, at the airport last week. Any magazine that featured Timothy Leary, Lenny Bruce and others of their ilk definitely would have been my magazine of choice had reading been my thing.
