I have no idea how clown paintings got to be as ubiquitous as they are but I for one, despite not being especially fond of clowns, am very happy. I have quite a few myself though mostly very happy. I love when they come in sets. I hate to see sad clowns without any friends.

I have a painting almost exactly like this. It looks like someone painted their own version of this same clown, so I’m not sure if I have an original or not. There’s a signature in the lower right corner that looks like “Berfiol” but I can’t find any information on an artist with this name and the above painting is the closest I’ve found, so far, doing online searching. I just registered on this site so I need to figure out how I can upload a picture of the painting I have.

There are very easy to follow directions for how to submit Kitsch at the top of every page at http://www.AWMOK.com. Look for the “how to submit” button. I have taken off a few months from actively curating new items but if you email me at [email protected] once you have your painting uploaded I will for sure include it in the Museum. People still can look at everything here and leave comments and communicate with each other.
