Though slightly past his prime 70’s days and seemingly a bit more sophisticated than the malt liquor he endorsed, Billy Dee Williams stayed finely oiled by downing the guaranteed-to-make-your-brain-spin Colt 45 in the 1980’s. He took much criticism for his association with the king of malt liquors but made a kwintessential Kitsch komment when he rebuked his kritics with “I drink, you drink. Hell, if marijuana was legal, I’d appear in a commercial for it.” I’ll have 40 ounces now, please.

That is fan-freaking-tastic. That is the Billie Dee I grew up with, hawking malt liquor and saving alternately dooming and saving Han Solo in a cape. Sigh.

No, part of a permanent collection. But I do see various iterations of the sign show up on Ebay from time to time so make sure and sign up for email alerts there.

Do you know how to acquire anything like this? My brother and I, probably about 15 years ago, saw one at Pike Street Market in Seattle in a little “junk” shop. We both remember commenting on it and how much we loved it, but we didn’t have the money to get it that day. We went back and it was gone. We have been looking ever since. Do you have any thoughts on how we could find one like this? Thanks……..

I got mine on eBay around 15 years ago. I’ve seen about five on there since then. The best thing I can suggest to do is to do an Ebay search and sign up so for e-mail alerts so anytime anything comes in matching the description Billy Dee Williams Colt 45 lighted sign you’ll get an e-mail, and make sure and check that the search includes the description as well as the title. Sorry, that’s the best I can suggest. I also might not include the term ‘lighted’ as uness the seller really know those signs you could call it something else.
