Limbo Girl Oil Painting

One of my two favorite paintings I own. It has no title, though so many potential ones come to mind, but it was painted by “Eileen Farley, 11/11/70, P.R.” . I got this at The Rose Bowl swap meet in 1985. When I art directed and hand built the set for Just Say Julie, the first video clip show on MTV (1989-91) starring UPtown Julie Brown, Julie insisted that Limbo Girl be in her bedroom. There are several brilliant things about this painting:

the blue curls in her hair

the paint technique on the rope where it crosses her chest

the shading of the crotch

the shadow on both sides of the nose

the for all intents and purposes moustached upper lip

how tiny her waist is in proportion to her head
