On May 1, 2013, the brilliant artist and creator of The Heidelberg Project, Tyree Guyton, threw a catered, white tablecloth lunch for me at my favorite spot on earth, a scrapyard. Consumer Auto Parts, just down Mt. Elliott from where my father once had the second largest scrapyard in Detroit, was kind enough to host the lunch where Tyree and I announced our upcoming collaboration on a giant art project in The Heidelberg Project as members of the press stood on piles of crushed cars and scrap metal covering the event. This was literally one of my favorite afternoons of my life!
